Il a produit des albums pour nombre d’artistes et quelques-uns sous son propre nom. Il a notamment travaillé avec Neil Young, Bob Dylan, U2, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, Ron Sexsmith, Michael Brook et Nick Cave.
